Book Reviewers Wanted!
You're probably aware that we have grown the user group library significantly in the last few months. If you weren't, head on over to Hirethings and have a look at the books currently available. The aim is to provide user group members with a varied collection of best of breed books, both new releases and classic works. Mitch has been picking books across a range of subject matter, and in keeping with the 'become a better programmer, by learning a different type of language' philosophy, there are books on F# and Ruby, among others.
This initiative would not be possible without the generous contributions made by publishers: O'Reilly, Apress, InformIT and PeachPit.
In order to keep the library growing, we are looking for reviewers to write a short review. If you would be interested in reviewing any of the following books, we are keen to hear from you:
Beginning HTML with CSS and XHTML: Modern Guide and Reference. Apress
Visual Basic 2005 Recipes: A Problem-Solution Approach. Apress
Programming Ruby, Second Edition. O'Reilly
Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML. O'Reilly
Head First SQL. O'Reilly
Pragmatic Version Control using Subversion. O'Reilly
Of course, if there is a book that you think would be a great asset to the library that you are itching to read and would be willing to write a review, let Mitch know the title and ISBN and he will do his best to get it for you. The library is there for all user group members, so let us know what books you would like to read.
