Graduate Software Engineer - CBD - 6 months

Work at one of Perth’s most highly acclaimed Software Engineering groups on major Australian infrastructure software development projects.

The Graduate Software Engineer is responsible for effective software development including : detailed design within schedule and budget and to quality standards including appropriate documentation (design documents, design reviews, updated work plans).

The Graduate Software Engineer is also responsible for performing unit and integration software testing within schedule and budget and to quality standards. Outputs include unit test plans and results.

At this stage of the program, primary tasks will involve verification and validation activities towards final software acceptance milestones in 2008. This includes unit level testing and resolution of software defects.

SCOPE OF DUTIES

The Graduate Software Engineer scope of duties:

Participating in code inspections.
Performing informal and formal testing.
Preparing formal test plans and procedures.
Participate in effective communication within the project team and capability staff. Provide technical assistance to the project, capability, process improvement and others as required

QUALIFICATIONS

§ Completed tertiary qualification with a significant Software component (e.g. Software Eng, IT, Comp. Science, Games Development).

EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL

Competency in C/C++ and Java programming languages.
Competency with Unix/ Solaris experience (ideally Solaris 8.0)
Competency with Software Design Experience (UML & Modelling tools)

All candidates must be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance. The suitable candidate may need to be ITARS cleared; therefore we need to know if you hold any other passport other than Australian, or have dual citizenship.
